Lucy specialises in family law, where she works closely with all members of the family team in dealing with matters such as divorce, finances, children, Family Law Act matters, cohabitation matters and pre/post-nuptial agreements.
She is highly praised by client’s for her warm personality and kindness in helping them through difficult situations. She is able to put client’s at ease during stressful situations and often accompanies clients to court, as well as helping with the day-to-day running of their matter. Working closely with senior members of the family team has provided her with a wealth of experience, meaning she is well-equipped to help clients in all situations.

Experience
Lucy has experience assisting on all types of matters that arise following the breakdown of a relationship. Her experience to date includes:
- Assisting on a complex financial matter where one party had a serious illness, that impacted on their capacity to work.
- Supporting on matters where client’s come from an agricultural background or are intervenors in such matters.
- Assisting on complex financial matters involving multiple properties and businesses.
- Working on complex children matters that have involved international elements and serious allegations such as parental alienation and domestic abuse.
- Experience working on cases where an application has been made under the Family Law Act 1996 for an Occupation Order and/or Non-molestation Order.
- Working on enforcement cases, where one party has not complied with court orders.
Notable cases
Lucy worked closely with her colleague Laura Stocks on the reported case of H v W [2023] EWFC 120 . This case dealt with a successful application to enforce a final order in financial remedy proceedings. This judgment confirmed the survival of the Thwaite jurisdiction and its capability to review unexecuted orders where it is absolutely necessary and where it would be wrong not to do so. This case has been analysed in other legal publications.
Career
After completing her A-levels, she completed a Paralegal apprenticeship with CILEx at a Local Authority, with a specialism in Family law. Upon completion in 2020, Lucy joined Wright Hassall. She is currently completing her degree part time, alongside her full-time work.
Lucy is also a winner of the Wright Hassall 175 Law bursary.
Interests
Outside of work Lucy enjoys yoga, F1, reading and looking after her British Shorthair cat, Dexter.
